VACANCY NOTICE
Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40
countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care
practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for Partnership Manager
Work place: Amman, JORDAN with 20% travel to field sites
Specific Objectives:
Provide technical support to Action Against Hunger teams in the development and management of
partnerships in line with Action Against Hunger guidelines
Main Objectives
Mission 1: Organise, systematise / formalise, and implement the partnership approach between Action
Against Hunger and its partners in collaboration with the CD, DCDP, Heads of Departments, and Field
Coordinators
Coordinate the partner selection process
Establish and roll out a participatory process related to the definition of strategic, principled
partnership development and orientation of partnerships
Clarify the operational terms related to the joint implementation of projects or programmes
Establish template and project- / relationship-specific legal partnership documents (including but
not limited to partnership agreements and operational collaboration agreements)
Mission 2: Serve as operational support focal point for partner management and relationship
improvement
Lead communication on relationship managerial aspects between Action Against Hunger and its
partners (or support / backstop on communications in case of consortia arrangements)
Monitor and conduct diagnostics / evaluation of partnerships
Make recommendations on the expansion, continuation, and /or revision of partnerships
Coordinate conflict management and resolution
Facilitate lessons learnt meetings or workshops on specific partnership experiences
Mission 3: Define and implement a process of partner capacity development
Create and implement a consistent approach to partner capacity development, including definition
of standardised assessment and capacity development plan formats
Prepare and conduct partner assessments
Draft partner capacity development plans, and finalise plans in coordination with relevant
technical leads and partner staff
Implement monitoring / evaluation processes on capacity development plans
Lead by example as an active contributor to advancing Action Against Hunger’s gender
mainstreaming efforts and gender equitable approach throughout programming undertaking with
partners and teams working on partnerships
Mission 4: Fulfil general responsibilities and contribute to broader Action Against Hunger Jordan
operational quality and consistency
Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information at all times
Perform other job-related tasks as requested by the supervisor
Commit to and comply with the organisation’s gender, age, and diversity principles and policies
(working with people, communication)
Lead on the promotion of gender, age and diversity principles through daily activities and / or
through the management of teams, as well as through the planning and implementation of
operations and strategies (managing performance and development)
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Technical Recruitment Criteria:
Ability to build strong, credible relationships with international and local NGOs, government entities,
and communities
Knowledge of project cycle management
Knowledge of standard logistics, financial, and HR good practices and procedures
Strong computer and communication equipment skills
Excellent intercultural, interpersonal, organisational, prioritising, and communication skills
High capacity of work, able to overcome stress and work under pressure, with high degree of
flexibility
Autonomous, organised, and self-motivated
Diplomatic and tactful, professional and transparent
Ability to develop and implement long-term plans
Demonstrable commitment to gender equity
Solution-oriented working style
Firm understanding of ‘Do No Harm’ approach and humanitarian principles
Demonstrate understanding, willingness, and capacity to commit to, comply with, implement, and
promote age, gender, and diversity principles and policies
HR Recruitment Criteria:
Education: Master’s degree within the humanities or other relevant field
Professional experience:
At least 3 years of field experience with humanitarian NGO (candidates with less than 3
years of experience will not be considered)
At least 1 year of experience in the same or similar position
Experience in partnership development or management required
Experience working with social entrepreneurship and SMEs desired but not essential
Action Against Hunger experience a plus but not mandatory
Language level:
Excellent level of English and Arabic
